We hope this message finds you well. We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you for registering for the 2023 Great Kaw Adventure Race.
As the event date approaches, we’ve been diligently preparing to make it an unforgettable experience. However, we have reached a pivotal decision that we believe is in the best interest of our participants, our dedicated river crews, and our safety teams.
Regrettably, due to lower-than-expected registration and sponsorship numbers, we have made the difficult choice to cancel the 2023 Great Kaw Adventure Race. This decision was made with the utmost respect for your expectations and the quality of experience we aim to provide.
We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and for that, we sincerely apologize. Our goal has always been to deliver an event that we can take pride in, with exciting prizes for all participants. Unfortunately, this year, we are unable to meet those standards.
Here’s what you need to know about refunds and deferments:
Refunds: We will initiate refunds for all registered participants. These refunds, minus any handling fees from RunSignup, will be processed by Friday, September 22nd. Please allow a few business days for the refund to reflect in your account.
Deferment: If you would prefer to defer your registration to the 2024 Great Kaw Adventure Race, please send an email to email@example.com indicating your choice. We’ll be happy to accommodate your request.
We understand that this news may raise questions or concerns, and we are here to address them. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any inquiries or to request a deferment.
Once again, we extend our sincere gratitude for your enthusiasm and support. We hope to see you back in 2024, ready for a truly remarkable Great Kaw Adventure Race.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
GKAR Race Director
As many of you have seen in the updated rules participants are allowed to bring their own canoes and kayaks this year! We’re doing this because we heard great feedback from you that you’d rather bring your own gear for the event and use what you are comfortable with. This also helps us grow as more people can join in the event!
Now what if you don’t have a canoe or kayak? Well the Friends of the Kaw and Paradise Outfitters have joined us again as sponsors and both have reserved their canoes and kayaks to rent for GKAR participants! Please visit the Friends of the Kaw Reservation Page and Paradise Outfitters’ Reservations to arrange for your boating needs!
Hello everyone! The Great Kaw Adventure Race is OPEN for registration! And for those of you who have been eagerly checking in you can register until June 19th at a discount! Register today!
Hello friends! We’re getting really excited for our event this year. For the first time ever we will be joining forces with the Eudora Conventions and Visitors Bureau and Eudorafest to bring you a bigger experience Saturday October 1st. Not only will the Adventure and Orienteering races return, but you will be able to relax in our beer garden, listen to music and maybe even pet a burro. We’re working through the details of a bunch of things this year, including splitting the Adventure Race into a kayak and canoe classes to give participants more flexibility in their equipment. Come back often for updates!
